Hoy se realizó la ceremonia de entrega de los Globos de Oro (Golden Globe Awards), mismos en los que Avatar y James Cameron se impusieron en sus categorías, así como Robert Downey Jr. y Meryl Streep entre los favoritos para hacerse de estos importantes reconocimientos.
Destaca también el premio obtenido por Sandra Bullock como mejor actriz dramática por su papel de Leigh Anne Tuohy en The Blind Side y el de Jeff Bridges como mejor actor dramático en Crazy Heart.
